DAEMON Tools Lite is one of the best and most advanced programs for virtual CD/DVD drives in the Windows operating system.

The main asset of the application is the possibility to emulate protection technologies such as Safedisc, Securom, Laserlock, CDCOPS, StarForce and Protect CD (among other). Such solution is very useful in case of programs or games that require the installation CD to be in the drive all the time for proper operation. The program installs itself into the system tray from where it can be easily accessed. It allows mounting of up to 4 virtual CD-ROM/DVD-ROM drives.

In addition to the drive emulation function itself, the DAEMON Tools Lite also contains an interesting tool for disc copying. It does not only copy the content of the carrier into an image, but also allows password-protecting it. DAEMON Tools Lite provides burning disc images. However, to unlock this functionality, another creator?s product must be installed ? the Astroburn application.

The latest DAEMON Tools version is still freeware (for private use), though it installs adware components by default (they can be deactivated nevertheless). The application fully supports the Vista and 7 systems.
