Mozilla Firefox 24.0

The Firefox browser provides only the functions that are the most useful (according to its creators), additional functions are determined by the user himself. Firefox, like other popular browsers, has a simple user interface, allows tab browsing and pop-up window blocking. It is also equipped with built-in spell checking mechanisms for user text written on websites. A built-in download manager allows resumption of a file download in case of e.g. internet connection break-off.

Versions 3.6 and above support visual mini themes that may be applied without resetting the browser. Since version 4.0 the user may also hide the top menu bar. Firefox integrates with some of the Aero interface elements which came out along with the Windows 7 release: Aero Shake, Jumplist and the taskbar download progress bar.

Firefox includes process isolation for Windows and Linux system versions. Thanks to this solution, plug-ins such as Flash, QuickTime or Silverlight operate outside the browser process which is important in case one of them malfunctioned. It is then still possible to browse other sites, Firefox will not crash and the site with the plug-in that crashed may be simply reloaded to make another attempt to launch it. Similarly, if one of the plug-ins starts to use the entire processor capacity, its process can be killed without harming Firefox.
