Alcohol 120% is an easy to use software, combining the traits of a disc recording tool and a CD/DVD drive emulator.

The application easily allows to create backup copies of CD and DVD discs (on CD-R, CD-RW, DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD-RAM and DVD+RW), including those secured by Laserlock, SafeDisc, SafeDisc2, Securom, Securom, StarForce 1.x/2.x, VOB ProtectCD and VOB ProtectCD v5 technology. A major advantage of the Alcohol 120% is creation of (up to 31) virtual drives, thanks to which playing disc images instead of recording them is possible. The program supports most of the popular disc image formats: BlindRead (*.bwd), BlindWrite V5/V6 (*.b5t/*.b6t), CloneCD (*.ccd), Cue-sheet (*.cue), DiscJuggler (*.cdi), Instant CD/DVD (*.pdi), Nero (*.nrg), Standard ISO (*.iso), compressed ISO (*.isz) and Media Descriptor (*.mds, *.mdx), used for creating carrier images by the software itself.
