FFDShow is a very good and fast alternative video files (movies) decoder for files saved in DivX, MPEG 4 version 1, 2 and 3.

FFDShow is especially recommended for ?choking? of movies on a slow hardware and/or problems with movie playback in the case of old DivX 3.x and 4.x formats using the latest DivX codecs. It uses very good and precise decoded picture processing algorithms, making it clear and free from large monochromatic squares, distortions and various noises. The algorithms have been taken from a great XviD format decoder by Nic, a well-known and valued programmer in the world of DivX codecs, one of the developers of the XviD.
