Photoscape

Photoscape is a very simple and, what is crucial, freeware tool meant for processing of photographs for non-advanced users.

Photoscape is equipped with a photo browser, from which a slideshow may be prepared, and an editor. The editor may operate on a single photo or load an entire series. Tools for photo size change, brightness, contrast and color adjustment (also automatic), filters (sharpness area, afterglow, coloration, black and white and the like) and backlight correction are for disposal. We may also remove the red-eye effect, perform basic retouching through cloning and add interesting elements into the photos. There is a choice of a few amusing frames, text and comic book clouds.

Tools for mass file name change are also available in Photoscape as well as desktop snapshot interception and also creation of animated GIF graphics, combining many photos in one file or cutting one image into smaller ones for further application in websites. An important part of the list is the possibility to convert RAW files from digital cameras into JPG images which any graphic program can read. This program makes taking a sample of color from a point on a picture and preparing photos for print also possible.
