Adobe Reader 9 is the previous version of the freeware document browser for files stored in the popular PDF (Adobe Portable Document Format) format.

PDF documents always maintain the layout of the original document precisely, along with font, color and graphics assortment. The format and layout will remain intact no matter the hardware platform and operating system (Windows, Mac OS, Linux or Solaris). What distinguishes Adobe Reader 9 from its previous versions is added multimedia support, especially the Flash format. It is then possible to play videos and animations placed in PDF files. Moreover, very slow operation which collected user complaints has been handled.

The ninth version of Adobe Reader operates noticeably faster. Digital signature support, 256-bit AES encryption processing and the ability to browse single or many documents at a time has been added as well.
